I am a proud member of the Wellington Branch of the CWA (Country Women’s Association). Before joining I often wondered what the CWA did and whether it was just a bunch of country ladies getting together for a cup of tea, scones and a gossip. How wrong I was!

Today I want to introduce you to Sallie who is the oldest hound of 3 “house dogs” we have. I was given Sal 12 years ago when the twins were 4 - which makes her 84 in dog years! 

Today we found out why we have been getting no eggs from the chooks – the culprit – a Goanna named Gus! As beautiful as he is we are missing our eggs – fried, scrambled or in cakes for morning tea.

This week Norm and Frank (our farm hand) have been busy getting ready for our Artificial Insemination (AI) program with our top Stud Ewes (i.e. the best girls we have on Glenwood).

It has been like an episode of Wildlife Rescue this week at Glenwood. Today I found a tiny sugar glider in the garden that must have fallen out of a tree. Steve Irwin would have been proud as I got a ladder and found a nice new home for “Cyril” in a big tree away from the house.

The holidays have ended and I have PHD: Post-Holiday Depression! I have managed to iron and name tag a million pieces of clothing (well it feels like it!) for all 5 children.

This week Norm has been moving or rotating the sheep – on a daily basis – from paddock to paddock, under our Holistic Management Plan. The original idea was developed by Allan Savory and we have been following his teachings for 18 years.

Happy Australia Day to all wherever you are in the world! Sunday was a fun filled family day at Burrendong Dam water skiing – beautiful weather – water like glass and even I had a ski and learnt to “Wake Board” on a surf board right behind the boat.
